Matt Scheeser

Matt Scheeser is the Director of Music at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Fairfax, Virginia, and Assistant Conductor for Choralis, a semi-professional chorus and Echos, its chamber ensemble based in Falls Church, Virginia. As a vocalist, Matt has sung with the Firelands Symphony, Dayton Philharmonic, and National Philharmonic Choruses. He is also a sought-after soloist for many churches in the Northern Virginia area. Matt spent a time with the Benedictine Monastic Community of Saint Meinrad Archabbey in St. Meinrad, Indiana, where his passion for chant flourished. Matt has performed throughout the United States, as well as Scotland, Great Britain, France, and Ghana, West Africa. Mr. Scheeser graduated cum laude from the University of Dayton in Ohio, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music where he studied voice with Dr. Linda Snyder, piano with Mrs. Elizabeth Vandevander, and organ with Dr. Richard Benedum. Mr. Scheeser holds a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from George Mason University, under the direction of Dr. Stan Engebretson. Mr. Scheeser is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM), American Guild of Organists (AGO), and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.
